Error messages in both platforms

• Data error - restore data!
  • This error happens, if the application detects that the data is modified after it has been saved
  • The application knows this, because there is an error detection code in the data
  • This can happen, if the disk of your device is malfunctioning
  • Or something has tampered your data
  • You should restore the most resent backup from Maintenance / Manage backups or Restore from emergency backup
• Data error no Settings - restore data!
  Restore emergency backup ok
  Redo action
  • The application stops after this error
  • This error happens, if the Settings data is missing
  • This can happen, if the disk of your device is malfunctioning
  • Or something has tampered your data
  • If settings is not found, emergency backup is automatically restored
  • You have to start the application again

Error messages in Windows only

• Port 8480 is reserved! Change the port from the minimized TinyClerk Console.
  • This error happens, if the application fails to listen to the port in Settings
  • It means that some other application has reserved the port
  • The error happens when the application is starting
  • The error prints in a Message Box
  • Change the port from the TinyClerk console, which is minimized
  • The new port is saved in the Settings and the application starts
• Page hangs with an hourglass
  • The modern browser is very complicated application
  • The embedded Tcp server interacts with the browser and the server may contain some errors or it may have some incompatibility with the browser
  • For the reasons above, the application may hang so that the hourglass is on and nothing seems to happen, no control of the page is working
  • If this happens do the following:
    • Press the stop x of the browser after the back arrow
    • Press the refresh control of the browser, if there is a confirmation dialog, press continue
    • You get the message "Recovering from browser action - redo action"
    • Redo the action you were doing before the hang
    • After this the application should have been recovered
• Recovering from browser action - redo action
  • This error happens, if you press some browser control like back
  • This happens also, if you duplicate the tab and try to use both tabs
  • Just do the thing again you were doing and the application recovers
• Unauthorized
  • This error happens, if you try to open a connection to the embedded server in any other way than by the application
